At the beginning of new year, on 12th of January, Xue Binghai, chairman of SOHO Investment Group Co., Ltd, Liu Mingyi, the general manager of bulk commodity department in SOHO , accompanied by Zhang Qiang, vice general manager of the company, visited the Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission. Two sides promoted and implemented the cooperative desire reached during the visit of leaders of Tianjin to SOHO . Wang Zhinan, director of Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission, Wang Honghai, director of Tianjin Port and Shipping Bureau, Hu Liang, vice director of management committee in Dongjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Luo Xunjie, vice chairman of Tianjin Port Group, and other directors of related subsidiary enterprises in Tianjin Port attended the meeting.
Xue Binghai introduced the reorganization progress of trading companies in Jiangsu Province and the layout of the group. He said that the group is implementing the requirements made by provincial party committee, provincial government and SASAC , focusing on the business of bulk commodities, and promoting the implementation of key projects. Liu Mingyi introduced the general situation of bulk commodity business conducted by SOHO. He stated that the group is keeping developing the bulk commodity area including energy and coal, metal and minerals, oil, gas and chemical industry, as well as agricultural and forestry products. Also, the group is enhancing the operating force of both ends in the supply chain consistently and the import and export advantages of the main products around the rare resources in the construction of modernized industrial system. Zhang Qiang expressed his thankfulness to all the relevant departments and Tianjin Port for their support to JSFT’s development in Tianjin. In recent years, with the support of Tianjin Port, the volume of goods of JSFT arrived in Tianjin has increased steadily, with a breakthrough of 3.5 million tons in 2023. Zhang Qiang stated that Tianjin Port will play an increasingly important role in the field of nonferrous minerals, and JSFT will accelerate the development in Tianjin. It is hoped that both sides can use their own resources and conduct business together. The cooperation in warehousing and logistics could be strengthened, while the cooperation in building the base of nonferrous minerals and other areas could begin, and promote the high-quality development of both sides.
Wang Honghai gave recognition to the development of JSFT in Tianjin. He pointed out that improving the arrangements of supply chain and industry chain in Tianjin could also be the important opportunity for Tianjin Port to promote the transformation and upgradation of industry chain. Tianjin Port and Shipping Bureau will support the implementation of the joint projects between Tianjin Port Group and SOHO Holdings Group actively, optimize the layout of port continually, promote the transformation and upgradation work of port, and achieve high-quality development.
Wang Zhinan highly appreciated the spirit of reform and innovation shown in the reorganization of the Jiangsu’s trade groups, and gave affirmation to JSFT’s spirit of forging ahead. He pointed out that the enhancement of cooperation between SOHO Group and Tianjin Port is a powerful measure to implement the action carried out by Tianjin municipal party committee and Tianjin municipal government about integrating port, business and city together. This can promote the collaboration and communication between Jiangsu and Tianjin positively. Tianjin Municipal Transportation Committee will implement the requirements and deployment of municipal party committee and municipal government, give full play to the policy of promoting the high-quality of integration and development of port, business and city, serve SOHO Holding Group to invest in Tianjin, accelerate the implementation of joint-projects, and build up the strength, quality and size of port economy continuously.
On the meeting, both sides conducted the in-depth discussion about investment in building subsidiaries and projects related to warehousing and logistics. During the investigation, Xue Binghai and his party visited the Tianjin office of JSFT, inspected the operation of Tianjin Port and cargo control situation of JSFT.
